The Jasodha Anath Ashram Orphanage is home to 75 children ranging in age from 9 months to 18 years old. With the arrival of a 5-ton truck loaded with supplies from LDS Charities, their lives have been made more comfortable.
Dr. Kamal Kumar, who oversees the orphanage located in a remote area of the state of Odisha in India, became acquainted with LDS Charities through senior missionaries serving in New Delhi. The missionaries could see the children were in need of many basic items but the location was difficult to access from Delhi during monsoon season and then winter weather.
With better weather conditions, a large truck was loaded by local church members in Rajahmundry with beds, mattresses, linens and blankets, kitchen pots and pans and much more. The Young Adults of the local congregations filled hygiene kits for each of the children.

Happy and excited children met the arrival of the supplies. Having slept on the cold floor, they now have their own comfortable beds. Books and writing tablets were also donated along with soccer balls for the children to play with. Smiling, happy children played on the mattresses as they were unloaded from the truck.
