New Delhi mission president, President Kirt Hodges and his wife Shawna Hodges, arrived in New Delhi excited to spend the next three years serving in India. They were warmly welcomed by the members. The Hodges will be leading, training and supporting those serving in the mission of The Indian Society of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
They are succeeding President Peter Sackley and Sister Kelly Sackley who have returned home to Canada and the United States.
President and Sister Hodges are from Idaho Falls, Idaho in the western part of the United States and are the parents of four children and 7 grandchildren. They enjoy hiking, golfing, scouting, reading, being outdoors and spending time with their family. Sister Hodges enjoys writing, exercise and studying health issues and President Hodges is an avid reader. President Hodges graduated in accounting from Utah State University and Sister Hodges earned her master's degree in English and Literacy Education from Idaho State University. They particularly enjoy church callings in which they serve together so this is a wonderful opportunity for them.

There are currently 418 mission presidents across the world. Some mission presidents have little previous experience with the language or culture of their new assignment. They come from all walks of life, from many geographic locations, from varied experiences in Church leadership and from diverse family compositions. President Hodges is familiar with Asia, though, having served in Thailand as a young man.
The Hodges will have a variety of responsibilities. On a daily basis, they will oversee the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of those assigned to the New Delhi, India mission. We warmly welcome them as they serve and love the people of India.
