Millions of people worldwide will gather April 4–5, 2026, for the 196th Annual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The two-day event, originating from the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, will feature messages of hope and peace centered on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
Because this year’s conference falls on Easter Sunday, many of the messages will naturally center on the heart of Easter itself — the literal Resurrection of Jesus Christ, His infinite Atonement, His triumph over death, and the hope, renewal, and peace that come through Him. Sermons from Church leaders will bear witness that because the Savior lives, individuals and families can find strength, purpose and joy in their discipleship.

What Is a Solemn Assembly?
Another important moment will be the solemn assembly during the Saturday morning session — an opportunity for Latter-day Saints to sustain a new Church President and First Presidency.
Solemn assemblies are special, sacred meetings held for a variety of holy purposes. They bring an elevated sense of spirituality into the meeting. Solemn assemblies have included the sustaining of a new Church president (as will be the case on the morning of April 4), the dedication of a temple, special commemorations, and other sacred purposes.
Some solemn assemblies (for example, in April 2020) have featured the Hosanna Shout, a symbolic act with New Testament roots. The April 4 solemn assembly will not include a Hosanna Shout.
Updated Session Schedule
Following recent adjustments to the conference format, the April 2026 general conference will not feature a Saturday evening session. The conference will consist of four general sessions for all individuals, families, and friends of the faith.
The conference is streamed and broadcast live in over 70 languages so that people anywhere can access it in gatherings large and small, in homes and family settings.
How Can I Watch or Listen Later?
Following the broadcast, the messages will be available in text, audio, and video formats on multiple channels in up to 98 languages for on-demand viewing and studying. These channels include Gospel Library, Media Library, the General Conference YouTube channel, and the Church magazines.
